A bump mark impression on the top left corner of the front cover. The binding is tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.

Considering the binding style, Toledano Style 11, this copy is from 1963 - 1967. Beautiful dark red cloth covered boards, with the distinctive Modern Library torch bearer logo with the title and author name on the spine in gold. Torch bearer logo impressed on the front board within a hexagon. Includes; Juno and the Paycock by Sean O'Casey, Riders to the Sea by John Synge, Spreading the News by Lady Gregory, and Shadow and Substance by Paul Vincent Carroll, as well as an introduction by George Jean Nathan. 332 pages. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover, just has some rubbing wear marks to the spine, and light edge wear a the head and heel. From the Pulitzer Prize winner of 'J.B', an update to the Herakles story set in contemporary Greece. 91 pages, 6" X 8-5/8". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Jacket has an inch long closed tear at front gutter, Sturdy green colored cloth covered cover boards, with the title blind stamped to the front cover board, and the title and author imprinted on the spine in silver. Cover boards show some sun fading to the edges. Top edge of the text block has some age toning spots. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages.
