Edwardian era 'Regency' style romance novel about Sylvia Marchmont, who travels to Europe and sends word home to here friends of her unexpected marriage to the Duke of Ryde. 330 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-1/2". Also includes an interesting section at the back listing additional books of the time from A.L. Burt. Red cloth covered boards, with a wonderful vintage design on the front cover board of a moon with the title within. Cover design, and spine lettering, has some light rubbing, but is still entirely legible. One blue pen ink mark on the front paste down - a single line of about 3". Edges of the text block have some dots of age tanning, which would appear to be an appropriate amount considering the type of paper stock used at the time. There is an abrasion mark on the top edge - looks like a name that was rubbed out. Not a library discard. Binding is tight and square. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
