"Russian born cellist Yasha Bunchuk achieved fame in the U.S. as the conductor of the enormous Capitol Theatre Orchestra in New York. This led to his association with Capitol Theatre co-owner Maj. Edward Bowes. He became a U.S. citizen and moved to Hollywood where he was working with Columbia Studios. At the time of his death, August 31, 1944, a deal was pending for him to take over as conductor for the Carnation Contented Hour." (from youRepeat).
