An attractive copy of this scarce Boston first edition. Chauncy was "the theologian of the American Revolution," a liberal protestant who disagreed with the Great Awakening and wrote on the benevolence of the deity and who believed in universal salvation. Printed by Powars & Willis, an important Boston printing firm who were one of the first to print the Declaration of Independence broadside a few years before. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 293 pages .
