The first 63 pages (which ARE numbered) are dictionary definitions, the balance are illustrations of everything from body frames to basket racks to storage batteries to trolley harps. Original dark brown leather binding with gilt is quite worn, edges rubbed with loss of leather, spine covering is gone but book is still holding together. Interior end papers are browned, some foxing near the end papers and edges of first and last pages are crispy, first blank separating at the bottom gutter, general toning throughout and some small page turning marks here and there, but otherwise clean and unmarked. The first and only edition and a remarkable documentary work on the electric railway in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. Aged and priced to reflect condition, but still usable and respectable. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 292 pages .
