n.p., 1850. Leather bound. Very good. 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" Mid 19th c. album in black leather, gilt decorative frame to covers, accents to spine. All edges gilt. 71 leaves of which 23 have been decorated with pencil sketches, original watercolors, pasted engravings, pen and ink originals, and fifteen colored miniature stamps of London landmarks. Of note is a micrographic circular rendition of the Lord's Prayer measuring 3/4", within a border of handdrawn religious and Masonic symbols, the whole having a diameter of 1 -3/16"

Unknown, 1894. Hardcover. Very good. Small 4to, 6" x 4" in beige linen, with pencil loop holding bit of pencil, 'Sketches EWB' and a small book and pencil icon drawn on cover. The endpapers bear a tally of her whereabouts noting her age in that year: '89 I was 8; '90=9; '93=12, World's Fair; '95=14 - Niagara, etc. through 1907, age 26. First blank is dated 1894. PLaces seem to point to MidWest Northward into French Canada, as naive yet charming pencil and pen entries are titled in French.

Four delicately etched landscapes with calendar accompaniment, printed on tinted etching paper, four panels folded accordian style 4-3/4" square, within handmade covers, pastedown year surrounded by moon cycle motif, wax seal and ribbon. Canby, active 1874-1903, of of the American Women of the Etching Revival, Member of the Women Etchers of America, listed in Annual Report for the Year (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston)Vol. 12, Dec. 31, 1887; Listed in Official catalogue of World's Columbian Exposition, 1893; included in the catalog of etching proofs exhibited at the National Academy of Design, New York City, 1891She resided at 1420 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, later moved to San Francisco.

Using an early cinematic optical printing process of three-colour separation Paul's films render the landscape in prismatic shards of technicolour. In this book stills are printed using RGB colours designed to echo the optical process of the three-colour separation film itself. Rhode Island : Maxwell Mays , 1960. First Edition. Card. Very good. Silkscreen or serigraph prints, averaging 10 x 7 with art 7 x 5, signed and titled: Dunlieth, Hopkins Hollow, Welcome, Sunday, Afternoon Walk, District School.  Born in Rhode Island and a product of the Rhode Island School of Design, Maxwell Mays began his painting career seriously when he was stationed in Recife, Brazil during World War II. Returning to peacetime, not having set foot in New England in five years he saw the once familiar scene in a new light and painted enthusiastically. Eighteen pictures made up his first show at Ferargil Gallery in New York City. Maxwell Mays lives and paints in a 1737 Rhode Island farmhouse.
