It consists of 50 stories, which theoretically are all titled in words of four letters...but not quite. Although it includes such titles as "The Hawk", "The Seal", "The Bear", "The Frog and Toad", and "The Gold Fish", it also includes titles like "The Fox", "The Jay", and "The Owl"; The boards show significant shelfwear, including chips at both ends of the spine, and lost portions of both front cover pastedowns; Inside, the pages are tanned, and have a lot of fingerprint smudges; There is substantial writing on the blank pages at both the front and the back of the book, but it is there mostly to tell the history of the book, which I find very interesting.
