Description:
Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1856. 356 pp plus 12 pages of adds for other books. Green cloth, embossed boards with gilt lettering on spin still visible. Biography of John Fremont until his early 40's. Boards have indications of some water damage, are somewhat soiled; exhibit wear; and include a 1" stick on spine. Interior has signs of water damage. FFEP is torn and a piece is missing. Book is tight and has no markings, but it does exhibit foxing . This is a classic biography of Fremont and history of California. Well illustrated with 18 full page engravings and drawings including frontispiece of Fremont (tissue paper missing). . Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
