Minor separations on the box corners, but archivally repaired, thus strong and attractive -- and the calendar itself, having remained in the box, is as close to pristine as it gets. 1955 calendar featuring twelve handsome, color, heavy stock prints of early circus wagons. Difficult to find in unmarred condition with the original box. Fifth annual calendar in this particular form, tight and attractive.

Attractive revised fourth edition of this how-to (first published 1916). For a hands-on manual that generally received heavy use this is a quite nice copy. Binding mildly mildly worn, with spine slightly sunned, but overall tight, clean, nice. First edition of this in-depth road guide to, as front board notes, "Hotels Garages Service Map General Information" for travelers in England, Wales and Scotland. A remarkably thorough, detailed look at U.K. transportation of the era.

In honor of the centennial of the Civil War, this issue began a series: "A Motorist's Guide to Historic Sites in the Southland 1861-65."

Boards very slightly bowed. A tight, most handsome first edition of this highly unusual love affair between (to quote the jacket front flap) "a twentieth-century American art director and... a very British, and rather haughty, Jaguar automobile...." The author boldly inscribes and signs the half-title page in blue ballpoint to a noted Midwest photographer: "to my long time / friend, Archie Lieberman / without who's advice and help / this book would not have / been published / Harry Smedley / 11/29/83." Opposite this a 3" X 3" slip has been stapled to the upper part of the flyleaf, on which the author pens: "Hope you enjoy / the book as much as / I've enjoyed yours. / My best to both / your [?] / Harry."
