Subtitled, How We Made & Marketed a Horror Classic, this book is an updated edition of the book first published in 1985 with much new material added. Unpaginated, illustrated in monotone. Very minor bump to top corner of the lower wrapper and last few pages but otherwise an unread copy in excellent condition. SIGNED by John Russo who acted in the in the 1968 movie and wrote the original screenplay.

Rubbed/slightly bumped at the corners and along the edges of the boards, and a few minor scrapes to the surface of both covers. The block is reasonably fresh and not browned. Free from owner names etc, there is a small stain to the margin of page 13 see picture). Signed in blue ink by Tove Jansson at the front endpaper.

Collections of short stories by leading Irish authors of the time. Volume 1 is SIGNED by Roddy Doyle at the half-title and the second volume has been SIGNED by Dermot Bolger and Ellis Ni Dhuibne. Nice item, especially with the signatures, and some good reading. Each volume Near Fine in like dustjackets.

A VG, square copy but this was a cheaply produced book and the paper-stock low quality. The block is tanned, therefore. Minor shelf-wear to corners and edges of the dustjacket (unclipped). An uncommon SIGNED copy of this paperback original by the acclaimed Finnish poet and translator. pp.37, plain white wrappers with illustrated dustjacket. A VG copy in VG jacket which is sunned at the spine. Signed at the title page.

Surface wear along the edges of the boards/corners and a few minor scrapes to the surface of the upper cover. A couple of minor marks to the lower cover (ink) The block is reasonably fresh and not browned but there are small, single stains to the margins of four of the pages (text/drawings not affected). Signed in blue ink by Tove Jansson directly to the top right corner of the half-title, uncommon thus.

Surface wear along the edges of the boards and a few minor scrapes to the surface of the upper cover. pp. 156, illustrated throughout with vingnettes and half/full page illustrations by the author. The block is reasonably fresh and not browned, the binding firm but there is intermittent cracking through the block. VG and uncommon with inscription and signature.

New York: William Morrow, 1935. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 2nd Printing of the First US edition - issued in the same of month of publication as the First Printing (April 1935). An extraordinary copy of this classic of 20th Century children's literature and basis for the film starring a young Elizabeth Taylor. At first glance, a rather scruffy copy which doesn't really bear a second glance but never judge a book by its cover. At the front endpaper, the most delightful inscription from Edith Bagnold: "To Miss Busvine, from a querulous, bad-tempered but very grateful author - to a saint. Edith Bagnold, London, March 1936". Very interestingly, Miss Bagnold (married name, "Jones") has also signed for a second time below the small drawing of a horse at the foot of the page as "Edith Jones". The illustrations in the book have always been attributed to the author's daughter, Laurian Jones, who was but a child at the time of publication, which begs the question… Read More

Inscribed at the top to the original recipient and lovely, clear autographs in ink or biro. The card is plain greyish-colored and is approximately 3.5 inches wide and 7 inches long. VG clean condition.
