The 129th received their training at Camp Doniphan in Oklahoma, and arrived in France in early June, 1918. The regiment saw action at Meuse-Argonne, Alsace and Lorraine, returning home in April, 1919. Future President Captain Harry S. Truman commanded Company D of the 129th regiment.
