Doubleday, Doran & Company, Garden City, NY, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition. Book A stated first edition of Roberts' first novel. The long, 18th century-style title only appeared in the first (actually printed in 1929) and second (January 1930) printings, both of which are dated 1930. The only difference between them is the absence of the First Edition notice on the verso of the title page in the second printing The first and second printing bindings are notoriously bad and this copy shows typical signs. The cloth is now protected in a heavy mylar cover. Note: I have a large selection of Kenneth Roberts books and related materials. Contact me if you are looking for something in particular. Size: 7.5"-8" - Small Octavo (Sm. 8vo). 618 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight and unmarked, though the pages have toned with age.
