This is an endowment policy from the order of Galanthe auxiliary to the Knights of Pythias for Mary Louise King the daughter of Ruth King. Mary Kng will be paid 150 dollars upon the death of her mother. Member of Hadassah Court number 20 located in Watkins (now Watkins GLen) NY and dated June 30, 1915. In b/w and quite ornate with Knight of Pythias and Damon statues at top/ gold seal on left still nice. Other illustrations around the outside. Will send rolled. ; 17x22 .

Stated he attended Starkey Seminary which later was also known as the Palmer Institute located in Lakemont, New York. Name was changed because the Palmer family gave a large endowment. This information was obtained from a 1918 handbook of private schools. Believe the seminary to be founded in 1839. From the studio of F. F. Mills in Penn Yan, Ny. Has 2 cent playing card cancelled tax stamp on back. ; Photograph; 21/2x4 .

Original envelope with red and blue return address from the fair addresed to Elmae Adams of Cortland New York with cancelled 3 cent Win The War postage stamp. Includes red ribbon for second premium in education, entry tag and letter from the fair showing that the award was in drawing. Envelope does have a small water stain on it. .
