The original French edition was published in 1723 under the title "Les aventures merveilleuses du mandarin Fum-Hoam" and Stackhouse's translation first appeared in 1725...hence, this is the second edition.Contents has been photographed for your review as well as examples of engraved illustrations. This small full leather bound original 1740 book is beautifully in tact, with a firm binding, period end pages and stunning illustrations. We found no writing or tears within.
