Authentic program from the 1956 Fort Worth Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show. With memorial piece on Amon Carter, Jr., who died June 23, 1955. Carter is pictured on the front cover in the clouds above Amon Carter Square in Fort Worth, astride his horse and alongside his old friend Will Rogers, also horseback. Price 50c on cover. Laid in is 'Today's Program' for Matinee, Sat., Jan. 28th, 1956, and listed among the contestants are 5 time world champion Jim Shoulders and 2 time world champion Casey Tibbs. 56 pp. 8-1/2"WX 10-3/4"H. Stapled binding with light wear on hinge, especially on ends. Corners have light wear, and lightweight wrappers have a little creasing. Sturdy, bright and clean copy.

Autobiography of Elmer Scott, Dallas civic leader and businessman. 163 pp. Cardboard boards covered with naturally tan heavy paper wrapper. Front board has very small spot, and rear board shows some discoloration/rubbing. Corners and spine ends show a little wear, and cover at top of spine has 1/4" missing. Edges also show some rubbing. Paper is somewhat tanned and foreward page edge has small spot. Front free end paper has gift inscription to previous owner and top right corner has price, $4 written in ink. Interior is clean.

Spine ends and corners have some chipping loss. Front panel has small area of of dark stain, and rear panel has a stain below the top on hinge. Bottom of spine has creasing at both hinges.
