Bindings have blindstamping and lightly dulled gilt to front cover with ornate gilt design to spines. Occasional light wear to spine edges with some light wear to corners. All bindings have gilt on two headbands, one tan colored and one red. Each volume has light wear usually at spine ends and corners. Vols. II and IV have small areas worn through cloth at spine area. Light sunning to all spines with tan paper headbands that have black lettering. Top edges gilt with uncut fronts. Blindstamped ship to each front cover. Each volume has FO bookplate to front pastedown but no other marks. Very light overall age tanning to all. ; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall .

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1919. Hardcover. Dark green cloth hardbacks are all tightly bound with no marks. Each volume has a frontis of Marshall but each a different pose and all have tissue guards in place. Volumes cover Frontiersman, Soldier, Lawmaker 1755-1788; Politician, Diplomatist, Statesman 1789-1801; Conflict and Construction 1800-1815; and Building of the Nation 1815-1835. Light overall age tanning. Top edges are gilt with fore and bottom deckled. All gilt to front covers and spines is bright and easily readable. Very minor wear at spine ends and corners. Burgundy leatherette hardbacks are tightly bound with bright decorative gilt to spine and blindstamping to covers. Gilt top edges. All edges very lightly dust dulled. All have age toning to end papers with lighter toning to texts and have light dust dulling to upper edges. Very little edge wear. Each has black and white frontis. V. 1 is Roderick Random Parts One and Two; V. 2 is Roderick Random Part Three and Sir Launcelot Greaves and this copy has light rubbing to front cover; V. 3 is Peregrine Pickle Parts One and Two; V. 4 is Peregrine Pickle Parts Three and Four; V. 5 is Count Fathom; and V. 6 is Humphrey Clinker which has a one fourth inch piece missing from upper spine as well as very light rubbing to front cover. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall .
