Crossfield was charged with an attempt to kill King George III. The trial was conducted at the Sessions House of Old Bailey on May 11-12 , 1796. Many of the key public issues of the day for England are explored in this fasinating trial. And Gurney's account seems to be a full one. Crossfield was found "not guilty" after a trial that was remarkable in English history. There are some marks in the text and the margins . All text is present and readable. Orignal leather binding is in very good condition . Overall , remarkably preserved volume. Bookplate of Sir James MacIntosh on inside front board.
