The Debutante Register: 1945. This is a rare book. A large register of women who made their "debut" into society between 1943-1945. Some skipped their Debutante Ball due to the war. There is a photograph of each woman, and underneath is their name, who their parents are, where and when they held their debut, and a couple sentences about their education or their family history. Included amongst the women in this book is SHIRLEY TEMPLE! Her debut lists "cancelled due to the war." There are multiple signatures on the forward page, and I'm not sure if this book is signed or if the signatures were printed on from the originals. John Maclean: A Fighter for Freedom. By Tom Bell, published by the Communist Party, Scottish Committee. One of the first blank pages is torn out but does not affect the text or reading. There are also a few pencil drawings as if a kid got ahold of the book at some point. All text is readable and spine is intact. From the preface: Scotland has every reason to be proud of its contribution to the development of the Labour and Socialist movement of Great Britain. This contribution has taken a variety of forms, trade union and political organisation, and theoretical and practical propaganda. Its more spectacular contribution, however, has been in the personalities who have distinguished themselves in advancing the movement. Of these no list can be considered complete that omits the name of the school teacher socialist John Maclean.

The Making of Our United States. FIRST EDITION 1927. Includes maps, photos, and illustrations. There was a large sticker that was partially torn off the front cover as you can see in the picture, and same with the back cover. For the most part the binding is good and tight, with the exception of the first few pages.
