Presumably first edition.

French language. xxiv, 344 p. ; ill. (some colour); 29 cm.

Red cloth hardcover with gilt lettering and logo, shows moderate wear, including bumping, discolouration, etc. The binding is rather dry and will crack if overly stressed, pages are starting in a few places. The book is liberally illustrated, in black and white as well as with colour plates. There is a dedication and minor library markings to ffep and title. From the library of Monseigneur Maurice Beaudeaux (1902-1988), it contains a few instances of commentary written by him (e.g. see pictures).

Besides owning an extensive book collection, Beaudeaux was an Officer of the Order of Canada and archbishop of Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. He was awarded the honour of the OC for his work in the western provinces on behalf of French Canada.

This set of French-language religious volumes (except No. 1, which is English) comes from the library of the Grey Nuns and of the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface, Manitoba. As such, they contain the usual stamps, stickers, numbering, etc. Some volumes have protective jackets, but in general the exteriors are worn, including but not limited to scuffs, abrasions, and sunning, and a number of them have light dampstains and warping. In a few volumes, the binding it starting but, barring this, the books are internally Very Good+ to Near Fine, clean, crisp, and bright. Contain bibliographies and appendices. The content consists mainly of academic articles, reviews, and bibliographies, of subjects pertaining to theology and canonical law. It was concerned with the education of members of the Catholic clergy and sought to promote Social Catholicism, without the use of polemics. A set of 33 volumes of bound periodicals, being volumes 30-40 and 52-72, including a duplicate of 52, and containing issues of L'Ami du clergé dated 1908-1923 and 1935-1962 (with a gap from 1940-46 due to the war). The set is also being sold with a few ephemera items found between the pages of various volumes.Ex-library, coming from the National Library in the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface, Manitoba, Canada, these volumes contain the usual markings (stamps, etc.) and have been bound differently during certain time spans. Red hardcover album with gilt lettering to cover, a pocket inside with a profusely illustrated softcover book, including its original dust jacket, and an opening in the side for the vinyl record. Ex-library, the cover shows some scratches and general wear, plus sticker residue from library sticker to spine, and the record slot has a small crack at the bottom corner, similarly at heel of spine (see images).
