The book is liberally illustrated, in black and white as well as with colour plates. There is a dedication and minor library markings to ffep and title. From the library of Monseigneur Maurice Beaudeaux (1902-1988), it contains a few instances of commentary written by him (e.g. see pictures).

Besides owning an extensive book collection, Beaudeaux was an Officer of the Order of Canada and archbishop of Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. He was awarded the honour of the OC for his work in the western provinces on behalf of French Canada.
