1798, 1798. Single sheet (9 1/4" x 14 3/8") folded once, 4 pp., each 7 3/8" x 9 1/4". Addressed to his English publisher, Cadell and Davies, and dated July 12th, 1798. This 3 page letter (37 lines) is a timeless account of a frustrated famous author attempting to understand his publisher's inaction and motivate them to issue a new addition of his tremendously popular book, Domestic Medicine. It reads in part: "Gentlemen | I am daily teased by people enquiring where they can have the Dom. Med. I refer them to you, but it seems you cannot supply them with what they want. As I understand, from Mr. Preston, that the sheets were all printed off a considerable time ago.
