NY: Henry Holt & Company, 1879. First Edition . Hardcover. No copyright date, so presumed first US edition, very good with no dust jacket. Owner's name (partially erased) and 1880 date at top of front pastedown; same name in small letters on title page. Top edge of page block and foredge of pages have a thin line of dampstaining, and there is a faint stain on the front board from water. A couple of signatures in about the middle of the book are slightly loose and don't quite match up with the rest of the page edges. Terra cotta cloth with a gilt decorations and lettering on the front board and spine (gilt is still fairly bright). Bevelled boards have slight wear at edges, and lower corners are worn through at tips. Includes foldout color map at front, numerous illustrations, appendix, and an index; 479 pages.

Oblong rectangular binding. Previous owner's name and address on front endpaper. Includes many photographs, with some in color; 158 pages. Pray reintroduced the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg automobile models in the 1960's. This copy is signed by Pray with the inscription "Happy Motoring" and dated in 2007 on the front endpaper.

Spine is slightly sunned, and cloth is a touch worn at edges. Small damstain at bottom of rear board that barely affects the last few pages of the book. Includes some illustrations; 154 pages.

The price clipped jacket is slightly rumpled on the front panel, and very lightly worn generally. A few marginal marks and underlining sporadically throughout the book. Includes illustrations, Silver Shadow specifications, and an index; 144 pages. Laid in is an order form for another Rolls-Royce book.

Tiny pieces of paper adhereing to cloth at edge of spine - the jacket got slightly wet and left a faint record of its removal. Spine and edges of boards a bit sunned. Gift inscription and small bookstore label on front endpaper. Includes many illustrations, with the frontispiece and first one in color; 242 pages. The author was the Captain of the Aquatania.

An anecdotal history of aviation, with many b&w photos and other illustrations; 123 pages. No names or other markings in the book.

The book has white buckram cloth with a leather spine, with a slipcase covered in white buckram. The slipcase is just slightly soiled.
