Gift inscription on front endpaper; newspaper article taped to rear pastedown. The jacket has a few closed tears at edges, and the yellow spine is sun faded, At the bottom of the rear panel of the jacket, which is otherwise blank, is the statement: "This edition of The 101 Ranch was prepared especially for the 101 Ranch Rodeo Foundation, Inc." There are two other newspaper articles about the 101 laid in. Front flap has $6.95 price on front flap. Includes a Foreword by Glenn Shirley, many photographs, appendices, and an index; 255 pages.

Limited to 750 copies, although this copy is unnumbered. Front board and spine have faint dampstains, just slightly changing the blue color. No names or other marking in the book. Starting in 1855 and going through the Indian Wars, this is a detailed narrative of the personnel and activities of the Fifth Cavalry, including appendices listing all soldiers through each of the dampaigns; 705 pages.

With 15 photographs and a drawing of Annie Oakley's birthplace; 255 pages.

Slight wear to the blue cloth along the front gutter; a tiny bit of loss to the gilt on the spine. Includes frontispiece, 16 other photographs at end of text and a folding map; bibliography; and an index; 455 pages. Many of the pages toward the rear of the book are uncut. Laid in is an original prospectus for the book from the publisher.

Contains information on Billy the Kid, Archbishop Lamy, and Santa Fe development in the last half of the 19th century. Tight and square, with no names or other writing in the book, and a $3.00 price on the front flap.

Houston: Frontier Press of Texas, 1958. First Edition . Hardcover. Oblong elephant folio lacking a dust jacket as issued. Good copy, with dampstain affecting about first 6" from the hinge. The dampstain has caused a little discoloration on the front and rear endpapers and some rippling. The interior pages are not really affected except for slight rippling. The illustrated front board is also slightly loose and the outer cover has separated from the underlying board at the left hand edge. With over 1000 biographical entries and 600 photographs. This copy is inscribed by the author: "To Charles Kidwell - the expert on old firearms and a Kansan of the old school - who got in under the wire on the last copy of this book. Ed Bartholomew.

Fort Sill, still presently located in Southwestern Oklahoma, was one of the primary indian fighting forts of the Old West.

The mailing envelope is slightly soiled and was never mailed. Includes photographs of the interior of the bank, some of which show the utilization of the brands as a decor motif in the dining rooms. Published in the mid 1950's, with the material taken from "Texas Cattle Brands" edited by Gus Ford in 1936.
