The Introduction, Index and Notes are in English, while the actual essay is in Latin. Written by Cicero in 44 BC. The original owner's name can be found in about three places. That owner was Gertrude Pritchard, a schoolteacher in England at the beginning of the 20th century. I recently acquired a number of her books at an estate sale in Seattle. For a book that is 100 years old, the cover is remarkable. The colors and illustration are strikingly bright. No real sign of wear other than a bit of fading over the spine. This is a book of abstracts from a seminar on languages held in Brazil in 2003. Most are in Portuguese, with a few in English. There may be some in Spanish, French of Italian as there were programs for each of those languages. There is no appreciable wear to the cover or pages.
