Description:
No dust jacket. First edition. Little wear, pages in excellent condition, tight, clean, intact. The only thing, other than the missing dust jacket, is that when lying on its back, the spine of the book is about 12 degrees off plumb so the front cover is shifted slightly to the right of the back cover. In spite of that. it is still a first-rate mystery novel set in the world of horse racing, and what can beat that?

Description:
The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:Margaret Yorke: Yorke wrote 43 mystery novels, published between 1957 and 2001. These included the five novel Patrick Grant series. Yorke died in 2012.Edward I. Koch and Wendy Corsi Staub: Well known former New York City Congressperson and mayor, Koch has dabbled in writing since he retired from politics. He has penned seven nonfiction works, two children's books and four mysteries, all of which he wrote with an established mystery writer. Three of his mysteries feature himself as the sleuth, and three have been written with the collaboration of Wendy Corsi Staub, a writer of over fifty novels in her won right. This…

Description:
The second of 31 novels in the Agatha Raisin mystery series .Agatha has romantic thought towards the new vet, until he gets killed attending to a horse. So, instead, she sets herself to investigate his death as foul play. This book has very little wear, with one glaring exception. There is a section of pages (37-50) that have some small tears at and near the upper free corner (visible in photo #4). Knowing that the former owner of this book was a cat lady, I shall put the blame on the cat's claws. Probably wanted some attention. This damaged area does not impact the readability of the book. I have reduced the price by 20% due to this damage.

Description:
This book would have little wear to talk about had it not been for the book-biting cat, which got ahold of the top right corner of the front cover, taking away a small piece and leaving a few puncture wounds. Otherwise, there is a couple of mild spine creases and a small tear at the lower rear edge of the spine. 229 pages are clean, tight and bright. This is the thirteenth of 32 novels in the Agatha Raisin Cozy Mystery series by M. C. Beaton, aka Marion Chesney. Agatha, on the rebound after being dumped by her husband, sets her romantic sights on the new curate, until he turns up dead. Her interest quickly turns to sleuthing.

This is another book that ran afoul of the book-biting cat. The front cover has a puncture wound about midway along the outer edge and a small piece of the lower right front cover lost to the chewing of that darn cat.
