Nice Set of advertising leaflets and booklets :

• the issue of "Current biography", the Who's who of New York, which gives for the first time the card of Fernandel (vol. 16, no. 9, October 1955).
• booklet for the film "Regain" (Harvest), after Giono, shot by Pagnol, with Fernandel. The film had been awarded the prize for best foreign film in the USA. It was the only film, that year, to get all four stars in the NY times cinema rating charts, with "Gone with the wind" and "Mr. Smith goes to Washington". Pencil note: Chicago.
• Booklet for Public enemy n°1, with Zsa Zsa Gabor and Fernandel, shot in New York by Henri Verneuil, who signs there at the age of 32 his fifth film; with a photographic print of Fernandel in costume - print "Studio Albert, Marseille".
• booklet for "Trio des quatre", at the Town Hall of New York, with the "n° 1 comedian of the french screen". This unique performance took place on 25th October 1948, in the famous theatre of 123 West 43 rd.

Who is the enigmatic "Mr. W H." to whom are dedicated Shakespeare's Sonnets published in 1609? Much has been written about the mysterious dedication written by the printer at the time, and many hypotheses are still being discussed today. When he published this first version of the Portrait of Mr. W. H. in 1889, in Blackwood's magazine, Oscar Wilde echoed certain existing theories, and showed that he was perfectly familiar not only with the Elizabethan context of the Sonnets, but with the text of the strange poems in which the great playwright expresses the subtle and passionate flame of a complex love that hides and spreads out in the passage of a verse or a rhyme.
The fact remains that through this little drama with three characters linked around two letters, Wilde does the work of a novelist by staging his own reflections on the art of forgery and lying, which he believes to be at the heart of every work of art.
