March 1, 1923." Green cloth boards with debossed black stamping and gilt particulars to front board and spine. Tan dust jacket with green text protected in mylar. This work of fiction, which is argued to be an example of early science-fiction, follows an Atlantean character living 11,000 years before what is now San Francisco to tell the "real" story of El Dorado. Originally published in 1897, the author slightly revised the content to reflect their experience of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake although did not change the description or the incidents published prior to this edition.
