Autograph note by a young Harrison as aide-de-camp to General Mad Anthony Wayne: "Greenville 19th July 1795. The Commissary will issue for the Ottawas thirty seven pounds of beef + flour + sixty gills of whisky." Losses to paper under some letters due to iron gall ink (see image). The note is a little more than questionable inasmuch as Harrison (who would later become an opponent to whisky sales to the natives) was to shortly (August 3, 1795) be a signatory to The Treaty of Greenville wherein the indigenous tribes would surrender much of their land to the United States.
