Herrsching, Germany: Manfred Pawlak Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, 1980. Hardcover. As New/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Lucas Cranach. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Copies were purchased directly the distributor when new and have and packed away for several decades. Dust jacket is graded as near fine because of a few very minor scuffs and bumps and there is a bit of delaminating on the front right edge where the clear protective cover has a thin long separation from the red paper good and red cloth boards underneath is clean and bright. Binding is tight as book has never been read, never been thumbed through, has never even been on a store shelf. Pages are bright and clean with no issues. No handwriting, no price stickers, no remainder marks. No publication date listed (catalog showed copyright date of 1980). Please note: text is in German. There is one is one and photos are of the actual book for sale.

Advertising Typographers Association of America, Inc., 1954. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Stated second edition with original publication being 1947. Copyright page states Revised and Enlarged Edition with the copyright date of 1954. Original blue boards with orange text and design. Boards show minimal wear. Complimentary copy inscription on front end page. Front and rear pastedowns show cellophane tape and tape marks where apparently a cover was taped on. The rear pastedown has a built-in envelope sleeve which houses a pristine copy of the membership list of the Advertising Typographers Association of America, Inc.. Pages are clean and bright, binding is tight. Some toning and foxing noted along page edges. Book would have been graded as fine condition but the tape marks on the pastedowns lower it to near fine. London: Constable and Company Limited, 1911. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, decorated green cloth boards with gilt text to spine. Book would normally grade as VG to VG+ but there is a tear at the upper left hinge area that measures roughly 2 inches. Exterior shows some spotting and soiling along with light edge and corner bumps. The internal binding is good except for the area at the front board that matches up to the split in the cloth. Remaining binding is good and text pages are tight. Both maps are present in the rear of the book and are in good shape with no tears. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting found. Pages are toned due to age and there is some minor spotting and foxing present though this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns with the worst being the front end page.

New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company, Inc., 1959. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+/Fair. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Inscribed and signed by the author on the title page Senator Bob Bartlett, known as the "Architect of Alaskan Statehood". DJ is tattered with scuffs numerous tears and large chips. Original price of $17.50 is still present on the front flap. Red cloth boards underneath are clean with only minor edge bumps. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. End pages and pastedowns show foxing and spotting but text pages are not affected. Inscription on the title page reads: "To Senator Bob Bartlett, For a bigger view of our biggest date - Sincerely Ron Lueder". Senator Bartlett possessed the reputation of a quiet man of achievement. New York: Wm. H. Wise & Co. Inc., 1945. Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Austin Baylitts. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blue cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior show spotting along with edge and corner bumps. The spine shows some fading and also has light spots. Decorated end pages and front and rear are clear of any handwriting or bookplates. Binding is good, no hinge issues. Illustrated throughout with black and white and color photographs.

Providence, RI: Akerman-Standard Press, 1948. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, beveled brown cloth boards with black label on spine. The front porch shows some spotting along with a vertical indentation mark near the left side. The rear board shows a lot more spotting, both light and dark. This is the only reason for the lower condition grade. Corners also show some bumping, particularly on the upper outside areas. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting. The text pages themselves are mostly clean but the end pages and pastedowns do show some foxing and spotting, as does the exterior page edges.

Akron, OH: The Commercial Printing Company, 1907. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps along with handling and light soiling. Gilt text on spine is darkened. Interior binding is good, no real hinge issues other than a few small holes on the front hinge from where the binders string has poked through. Pages are toned due to age and some minor spotting and foxing is present. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting or library markings present.

New York: D. Appleton & Co., 1876. Hardcover. Good-. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. See photos for condition details. Large hardcover, three-quarter bound in leather with brown cloth to boards. Leather shows quite a bit of wear along edges and corners, spine is chipped at the top and has an old glue repair to the top right edge. Internal hinges are cracked at front and rear boards but text pages are secure. Pages are toned due to age, some quite toned, and scattered foxing and spotting is present. Some pages show edge chipping with small tears with the worst being the title page front end page contains a gift inscription. Please note: this is a very large and heavy book that weighs almost 8 1/2 pounds. Non-US sales and priority mail shipping option will require additional postage, media mail should not be affected.

New York: St. Martin's Press, 1959. Hardcover. Good-/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Original price of $4.00 is still present on the front flap. Navy blue cloth boards decorated in gilt with Braille underneath. The reason for the low condition grade of the book and jacket is because there is a large dampstain on rear board and back of DJ. This is limited to the exterior of the book only and in no way affects the interior pages or pastedowns. The interior binding is good and pages are clean. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting or underlining present. A good solid reading copy.

Vienna: Osterreichische Staatsdruckerei, 1958. Hardcover. VG-/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ has chips and tears to the edges and underside was neatly reinforced with masking tape. Over the decades the glue from the tape has bled through and has darkened the outside of the jacket. Pale green cloth boards decorated in gilt. Most of the book exterior is clean except for the rear board which has a stain near the bottom edge. Internal binding is good and pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, larvae markings present. Pages are tone due to age. The book still has the original ribbon place marker present.

New York: Crown Publishers, 1945. 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Two volume set with dust jackets. Both jackets are in protective mylar sleeves. Volume one contains 558 pages in has some minor hinge pull. The second volume has the 600 pages, and is numbered consecutively after volume one, bringing total number of pages to 1158. No signatures or bookplates noted, no underlining. Only handwriting in book is on the first end page where a previous book store had penciled a price which was erased at a later date. Both book still light foxing spots on the exterior pages and end pages are yellowed. Overall condition for both volumes are very good in a VG- dust jackets. This is the third printing, dated February 1945, in as issued with dust jackets and comes without a slipcase. See photos.

New York: Winkler And Kelmans, 1939. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ has edge and corner bumps as well as small tears and some scuffing is present. Ivory decorated boards underneath are still clean and bright though there is some age spots and foxing. Interior binding is good and tight, no hinge issues, no signatures or bookplates, nothing torn or loose. An attractive copy.

New York: Harper & Brothers, 1888. Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth board show spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Top of spine is a few small tears and spine is darkened. The internal binding of the text portion of the pages is good but there is a then crack at the rear hinge at the next-to-last end page. The rear hinge at board may possibly have been repaired a one point. The same issue is present at the next-to-last front end page as well. The book has some early library markings: the front pastedown contains a bookplate from the J. Herman Bosler Memorial Library (Carlisle, PA) and the opposite end page is stamped "Discarded" along with a small number written in the upper corner. New York: R. Martin, 1849. Hardcover. Poor. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, full brown leather binding ornately decorated in gilt on all sides, all three textblock edges also gilt. The book is complete and the interior binding is good but the reason for the poor condition grade is the front cover is detached and there is a large chip missing from the top edge of the spine. The internal binding of the text pages is secure and interior is still well bound. There is moderate foxing throughout and pages are toned. The second front end page contains the signature from the original owner and the second and third front end pages show very faint evidence of wear and old store price was once penciled in the corner. Front and rear end pages and pastedowns are of a blind stamped paisley style design. These pages do show darkening in spots along the edges, as seen in the photos.

Toronto, Canada: Longmans, Green and Co., 1948. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, tan cloth boards with blue text on front and spine. Exterior shows minor spotting and soiling along with some light edge and corner bumps. The worst issue is at the lower right corner of the rear board where there is a dark line present. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing present, though this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Stated first edition of April, 1948 on the copyright page.

Philadelphia, PA: Commissioners of Fairmount Park, 1922. Soft cover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, grey wraps with black text on front. Exterior is yellowed with the age and paper is brittle, mainly on the spine area. Back cover is starting to separate at the top and bottom hinge area and toning is present on all sides. Interior pages are also toned due to age and foxing is present. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings or handwriting found. Foldout map in rear of book is present. Binding is fragile on this book. Book has been placed in clear archival bag for protection.

Amsterdam: Roeloffzen-Hügner and van Santen, 1911. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, thin pale green cloth boards with black text on front and spine. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps as well as creases and soiling. Front cover shows date of 1911 though title page shows date of 1910. The interior pages are toned due to age and scattered smudge marks are present. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. The hinges are starting to show narrow cracks but binding is still solid. Includes supplement as well as second supplement (dated 1911). A section of the second supplement has a lower corner crease, likely caused in the book was created.

Softcover, thick brown heavy bond exterior, textured with gilt title on front. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps/small creases. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates present. Pages are mildly toned due to age and some spotting and foxing is present, mainly limited on the front end page and title page. No publication date listed (1927).

Phil: Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1971. 2nd Printing. Soft cover. Good+. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall softcover, textured card stock wraps shows soiling and handling wear, edges are curling and spine has a thin crack just after the "Y" in Calligraphy. This thin crack does not appear to be from misuse and may just be a binding issue in a strictly cosmetic. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no remainder marks or library markings. Only evidence of handwriting found in the book is on the front end page where there is faint residue in the upper corner where a previous price and cold was penciled.

Florence, Italy: Officine Grafiche Vallecchi, 1965. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ has always been kept in a protective sleeve but the reason it is only marked as near fine is because there is some foxing and spotting present on the rear, in the white area. Jacket only has some very light edge bumps but is otherwise in excellent condition. Bill cloth boards underneath are clean and bright with no issues. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No hinge issues, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only evidence of any handwriting found in book is in the upper corner of the front end page where you could just make out where a price was once penciled and then later erased. No other handwriting noted.
