Only handwriting found in book is a "ML #7" written in pencil on front pastedown, which can easily be eased, and on the ffep there was a price written in pencil long ago in the upper right corner which has been erased but here are still shadows of the numbers present. Binder's logo stamp on rear pastedown in corner. Spotting present on spine where a label is still partially present and there is both a white and a black spot on the front board. Small blowout at top edge of spine as well. See photos. Preface is dated November 24, 1859 and is entitled "Preface of the Ninth Edition".
