For Southerners, a true southern dinner includes homemade buttermilk biscuits on the side. As far back as I can remember, I knew that when I walked into my grandmother's kitchen in South Georgia, I'd find her in the kitchen with a hot batch of biscuits made from scratch. I printed this book as a tribute to her and to celebrate such simple pleasures as homemade biscuits at Sunday dinner with family.

In making a direct parallel between life and narrative, this book describes the baffling reality of a life cut short at the hand of its author. Taking as its starting point Freud’s writings in ‘Mourning and Melancholia’, it probes the shifting realities we encounter in extreme psychological circumstances: in this case, that of being in love, and of suicide. In both, we are subject to massive distortions of reality, and are temporarily or permanently overwhelmed by an external / internal object (person/thing) that is either to be enjoyed, or suffered. The SML code on the title page was written as a computer science class assignment to encode/decode RSA encrypted messages; it was printed as a photopolymer plate. Each book has a scene/a story printed on the exterior of the slipcase. The accordion book carries the imagery created for the written narrative. As with the others in this series man’s role in the scheme of the universe, particularly on earth, is considered. As the moon rolls in front of the sun creating an eclipse the writer says that “nature feels unordered, unexpected, even animalistic.” Man is but “a tiny tiny speck.”
