A good set, unsophisticated, but in publisher's temporary binding. Abdy visited the major cities of New England and New York, Virginia and Kentucky, and his narrative focuses on education, trade unions, prisons and prison discipline, asylums for the poor, lunatics and disabled, poor laws, banking, gambling and slavery. Illustrated by Elfriede Abbe with woodcut illustrations. One of 150 numbered copies signed by the illustrator; this is number 49. Light wear to the edges and the cloth else a fine copy. Although Browning published her first translation of Prometheus Bound in 1833, twenty years later she completed a second version which she preferred. It is that version which was used as the text for this edition. .

Finely printed letterpress by Walter Lewis at the Cambridge University Press. Copper plates by A. Alexander and Sons, Ltd., in London. One of 525 copies on hand-made paper. This is copy number 256, signed by the artist. The boards are yawning a bit as happens with full vellum in a dry climate, and there are a few small faint stains on the endpapers, else this is a fine copy. .

A fine, bright, nearly as new copy. The dustwrapper is not price-clipped. It has some minor restoration along the top and bottom edge and presents a near fine appearance. Signed by Mary L. n.p.: n.p., 1899. Stiff card. Very good. Small album of stiff colored card containing 14 mounted black and white photographs. Each is mounted with a white border hand-drawn about it. Affixed to the upper board is an embossed chromolithographed die-cut yellow rose and the hand lettered date, 1899. The photographs are mainly 4 by 2½ inches, with a few smaller. There are no captions. They start with a male portrait., probably the photographer. This is followed by a "See Denver" trolley. the Floral Pavilion in City Park, what may be the lake in Washington Park, several pictures of parades of military personnel, carriages and cyclists. The second last photograph is of a train, perhaps at the end of the day. And finally, what appears to be the Indian Scout statue in City Park. Many of the photographs feature a lady dressed in a white blouse and a long dark skirt, probably the photographer's wife. The photographs are largely faded but still in very good condition. Housed in a leather backed clamshell case. Justin's work covers the Hellenistic age and gives valuable information on such figures as Philip of Macedon and Lysimachus of Thrace. The second work is a collection of lives of Greek leaders of the 5th and 4th centuries B.C. by Cornelius Nepos, here called Aemilius Probus. Dibdin says that this edition was rare even in his day. The first title in Alexander's acclaimed Prydain Cycle. The American edition of this title was printed in 1964.
