Scarce first edition of an anonymously compiled legal vade mecum for farmers and country gentlemen, with particular attention given to game laws, tithes, highways and turnpike roads, fishing, fish ponds and rivers, the manufacture of and duty on malt, and laws relating to the manufacture and retail of cyder, mum, perry, and hops. The work further gives details of "all the acts of parliament, and adjudged cases thereupon, relating to cattle, corn, hay, straw, timber and other trees, butter and cheese, and every other article in which the farmer or country gentleman is materially interested." Leiden: Les Delice de la Grand Bretagne., 1707. Pieter van der Aa was apprenticed to a bookseller at the age of nine, and set up in business as a publisher at the age of 23. Over the following 50 years he produced a huge amount of Atlases and Ilustrated books. Les Delice de la Grand Bretagne, with text by his fellow Dutchman, James Beeverell, was published in eight volumes, containing nearly 250 plates and maps of towns, churches, colleges, abbeys and antiquities of Great Britain.
