Both initially wrote before isbn. Their books are utterly confused, seemingly, on-line. This is the 2nd printing of the A.E.s calculus book that was eventually reprinted, under the same title, as isbn #007052355x. Being 1972 this one should have an isbn, it does not. In leafing thru several dozen pages I saw one tiny, light, pencilled note. NY: St. Martins, 1989. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Good. OK this is a little complicated...There was a slipcased small press version of this done prior to this with a Latin title. This one does not match SMs 1st id according to my reference. HOWEVER it does not match for later printing either. . .Let us say this, jacket is priced and no later printings are shown. Jacket has abrasion issue back panel, perhaps the size of a postage stamp. Book has deckle foredge, half bound in red cloth (spine0 balance beige.

I surmise that this is one volume of what I assume is the multi-volume 1985 reprint of the 1971 reprint done by The National Historical Society. Perhaps a sales promo item? In any case it is very handsome. The only isbn given seems not to be correct so it has been omitted. The spine gives the contents as "Series 1 vol.9 Operations in SE Virginia, N.Carolina, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona Jan 11th- Sept 20th 1862 HAMPTON ROADS, ROANOKE ISLAND Serial #9". The long interior contents list seems to agree with this summary. The Ainslie ia a nice solid copy with a cosmetic issue or two. '68 is only date given but clearly a much newer publisher's reprint, perhaps, '80 or so. Large gift inscription 1st patedown is partially covered by front flap. Book caught a trace of moisture at spines bottom causing some color transfer. Will fotograf both. The Title page seems identical to those knowledegably offered on-line. Illustrations color and B&W in place. 28 paginated pages. Covers quite decent pale smudge lower front (thumb?) same, a bit darker, back cover.

Lima: Cervecceria, 1994. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. An unusual and hard to describe item. Text is in Spanish (I do not believe an English language version was done) massive, heavily illustrated, 325 page volume. I have very little Spanish and am using guesswork, (in part) in making this description. Edition may not be correct, but the title's printing seems to have been very small. Book is extraordinarily well-made and lightly used. Perhaps a hint of corner tip fade is present. Given that the book come from Lima and the subjects look Incan to my untutored eye, I assume that the pre-Columbian society or a sub-set of it, of the region is the subject of the multitude of fotografs and the writing.
