Description:
One of the truly great coming-of-age stories, and a difficult book to find in the first edition (so stated on verso of title page; no later printings listed). This copy is signed by Alexander on the half-title. The book has some foxing on the top edge, and two small ink marks on the bottom of the page block (probably from a used bookstore, possibly from remaindering). The jacket has small closed tears on the edges, and one major flaw: someone removed, quite sloppily, a sticker (Caldecott honor sticker, I'm guessing) from the upper right front cover. More photos available on request.

Description:
Glen Ellen CA: Entwhistle, 1980. First edition. Hardcover. no dustjacket (as issued). Charles Stephenson. An amusing book about one Friday night in New York's Greenwich Village in the early-mid 1960s. The illustrations were done by the artist taking slides of many people (including author Norman Spinrad and author/editor John Silbersack) acting out the novel, then taking the pictures away and drawing sketches from them. This is one of 500 hardbound copies, but not one of the 200 numbered and signed copies -- it is, however, signed by Anderson on the half-title. The cream-colored boards show some smudges, and the spine is slightly discolored -- inside, the book is clean and nice. tw
