A good plus copy. No wrapper. Numerous illustrations throughout. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine and a small gitl vignette to the front board. All four board corners bumped or turned in. The spine a little faded with a strip of fading by the spine to the front board. Very short ink gift inscription to the front paste-down. A vertical crease to the half title page - by the spine. Several page corners have been turned. A good plus tight, clean copy.

Pictorial hard boards with cloth spine. Light soiling to the boards and rubbing to all corners with a little loss. Occasional very light foxing. The last page has a tear to the front edge with loss of 10x22mm, not affecting the text. Otherwise clean and tight. A very good copy.

Original publisher's black boards gilt embossed to the spine. No inscriptions. The text supported by numerous photographic reproductions in colour. A slight bump to the tail of the spine and a slight bruise mark to the rear board with several more notable corresponding marks to the overlying jacket. The jacket has not been price-clipped. A lovely, fresh, clean, tight, bright copy.

The wrapper has not been price-clipped. There are two tears to the wrapper - one is 4cm in length and one is 1.5cm in length - both have been expertly repaired. A lovely, clean, tight well preserved copy in a very good minus wrapper.

Almost certainly a first edition first impression. Sunning to original publisher's cloth spine. Soiling to boards - with a stain to the lower board protruding 8mm from base front and back. A stain to the front paste down - with corresponding stain to the front end paper measuring 5cms x 3cms. A stain of 2cms x 1.7cms to rear paste down with corresponding stain to rear end paper. Otherwise the book remains internally clean - a firm, tight copy. A slight spine lean. First edition of a scarce crime novel.

Chip of 1 cm to the head of the spine of the wrapper with some assocaited rubbing. Some creasing and rubbing to the periphery of the wrapper. A very good copy of this book in a good minus wrapper.

A tear of 2 cm to the wrapper from the head of the spine, now repaired with acid free archival tape to the reverse of the wrapper. Slight shelf wear to the edges and the slightest of fading to the spine and front of the wrapper. A slight stain of a few mm to the rear end paper and paste down. A well preserved, near fine copy.

Bump to the tail of the spine and light bumps to both lower corners and slightly to the tail of the rear board. One other corner slightly bumped. Light foxing to the front end paper. Fresh and clean. Originaal dust wrapper not price clipped. Light shelf wear with a little creasing to the head and tail of the spine of the wrapper and over a couple of corners. There is a slight nik to the wrapper over the top front corner and to the head of the rear panel - now expertly repaired. No loss. A lovely, bright tight clean copy.

Light bump to the tail of the spine and a very slight scratch to the front board, measuring 5 cm in length and a couple of slight soil marks to the rear board. There is an area of light rubbing to the top corner of the front end paper with a corresponding mark to the front paste down. Fresh and clean. Dust wrapper not price clipped. There are 5 short tears from the wrapper edges, 3 now repaired with acid free archival tape to the reverse of the wrapper and 2 being expertly repaired. One tear has associated creasing. The wrapper is surprisingly clean and tight. A very good copy.

Illustrated with numeorus woodcuts at the head and tail of each chapter. Bound in green cloth with gilt embossed lettering to the spine. There are bumps to the head and tail of the spine and light bumps to two board corners. There is also some scattered staining to the spine strip, concealed under the wrapper. Light foxing to the fore edges and end papes. There is a small biro R to the top corner of the front end paper and to the top corner of the front panel of the wrapper. Clean and tight. Dust rpaper is not price clipped and is in a fully reversible plastic sleeve. There are small chips to the wrapper at the head and tail of the spine with the slightest of loss also to the corners of the wrapper. Light stains and foxing to the rear panel of the wrapper. A very good copy in a good plus wrapper.
