Description:
Greek is one of the richest of all languages, with an unrivaled power to express different shades of meaning. In this book, William Barclay, with concise and practical exegesis, examines many of the key words of the Greek New Testament, explaining what these words meant to the writers of the New Testament and to those who read and heard their message for the first time. This is a scholarly yet practical work written for the beginning Bible student, the advanced Bible student and/or pastor, not the Greek scholar. This 288 page volume combines two previous works by Barclay; A New Testament Wordbook and More New Testament Words, books previously published.
The William Barclay Library is a collection of books addressing the great issues of the Christian faith. As one of the world's most widely read interpreters of the Bible and its meaning, William Barclay devoted his life to helping people become more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

Description:
Grab this best seller—price beats Amazon!
The author of this 176 page self-help book suggests that business people don't have to wait until the weekend to have a good and effective week. John Beckett, a successful Ohio manufacturing executive reveals how work can be filled with meaning and purpose. He believes that the key is integrating work and beliefs. As a result, both can see growth, along with a love for Mondays. Beckett brings all of life together: work, belief, value, character, integrity, relationship, truth, worship and joy. As he has seen from personal experience, such principles result in employees who feel valued, enjoy their work, work hard and are successful at what they do. This is a book for those who aim to succeed in business without selling out.
When Peter Jennings and ABC News wanted to do a story on John Beckett's company, John's reaction was immediate and unqualified: "No way."
But Beckett reconsidered and took a chance because he had a message, a message he wanted others to… Read More

Learn theology from the great theologians; Berkhof is one of them. Here is a 1979 reprint of Dr. Berkhof's 1932 classic volume on Systematic Theology. "Part 1 treats the nature of dogma, the idea of dogmatic theology, the task of dogmatics, its method, its organization, and its history. Part 2, the essence, seat, and origin of religion, the external principle of religious knowledge (revelation), and the internal principle (faith). In the discussion of special revelation, the author discusses the scriptural proofs for the inspiration of Scripture, the nature and extent of that inspiration, efforts to discredit the doctrine of inspiration, and objections to that doctrine." Like new; opens as never read. NO MARKS!!!!An exciting new collection of sublimely simple wisdom from a bestselling author, celebrated athlete, and a true American hero; three-time MVP and Hall of Famer Yogi Berra. This amazing work--a collection of appealing, funny, and surprisingly moving essays on life, happiness, and getting through the slumps. Filled with another delightful helping of Yogi's inimitable and unwittingly wise aphorisms, these reflections focus on the valuable lessons he's learned on and off the field. From his early years as an immigrant's son who dropped out of the eighth grade through his triumphant career as a player and manager who played in a record seventy-five World Series games, Yogi illustrates his homespun philosophies with apt analogies to his trove of baseball stories. He expounds on such topics as Patience (Waiting for your pitch); Sacrifice (Laying down a bunt); Trusting Others (Taking direction); and Staying Focused (Keeping your eye on the ball), to show how the… Read More

This BRAND NEW 314-page hardback in-depth exposition of Daniel's prophecy with much enlightening historical and archaeological material not found elsewhere was written by a well-known biblical scholar. This is a FIRST EDITION by Kregel of the 1923 edition published by Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, London; Macmillan, New York. A RARE one-of-a-kind find!
Here is a review found online; "Boutflower was an exceptional scholar and epigrapher who was fluent in Babylonian cuneiform. His "unpacking" of the subtle depths of Daniel and the personalities of the New Kingdom rulers, supported by his own thorough background in extra-scriptural inscriptions and archaeological evidence constitutes a tour-de-force in exegetical scholarship. A treat to read, this work is indisputably the most thorough examination of the book of Daniel available. Highly recommended!" Description:
Any skeptics out there? In an attempt to address religious issues, his son Greg a professor of theology, asked his father to enter into correspondence in which all of their cards would be laid on the table. Three years and more than 30 letters later this 190-page hardback volume was written. It's a captivating debate between father and son; Dr. Gregory Boyd and his father, Edward via correspondence. Gregory seeks to dispel misinformation about Christianity and biblical truths. Chapters include questions such as these: why is the world so full of suffering? Does God know the future? How can you believe that a man rose from the dead? Why do you think the Bible is inspired? Do all non-Christians go to hell? How can I be holy and sinful at the same time? Etc. The review on the book states: '"Letters From A Skeptic" will help you wrestle with the rational foundation of your own faith. It will also help you know him to share that faith with the skeptics you have."
