The book has a small previous owner's address label to the front paste down. The spine of the dust wrapper is a shade tanned and there is a scuff mark to the top corner of the back panel. The jacket hasn't been price clipped. It is a sharp copy.   The nobel Laureate's masterpiece about the psychology of crowd behaviour. Canetti poured 25 years of his life into researching the subject fired by an early encounter as a child with a hostile crowd at the outbreak of the first world war.  . Near Fine. London: Hamish Hamilton. FIRST UK EDITION. The wrapper is in excellent condition with no toning or marks. It has not been price clipped. The book has very light toning to the text block. Also a light indentation mark to the side text block. A small penned mark to the lower text block. Overall a near fine copy with this one being particularly rare due to the author's inscription on the front free end paper.  A very sharp copy of Capote's classic crime title. The non-fiction novel is about the brutal slaying of the clutter family by two  would-be robbers. It would be remembered as a trail-blazing experiment that has influenced many writers since. The book was successfully adapted into a film of the same name in 1967 and again in 2005 as the biographical portrait Capote. World Publishing. First edition published by World Publishing Cleveland in 1969. This being the US first and true first edition with the code A3450 on the reverse, shown as being printed in Japan and complete number string down to 1. This copy is in very good condition. It does not have its dust wrapper. The boards are in the main clean with only the odd light mark and mild rippling to the right hand edge of the front board. The boards are gently bowed. There is a neat inscription to the top left hand corner of the leaf opposite the title page. The string binding is shaken in places but all pages are held by it. There is the very occasional small mark to the odd page. Overall a very good copy. Now presented in a loose protective cover.  One of the greatest children's books of all time, selling over 50 million copies and being translated into 60 different languages. The author M.P Victor Cazalet has inscribed to Pamela and Reggie to the top of the card covers and written "When shall i see you? Victor".     Major Victor Cazalet recollects his epic journey with General Sikorski Prime Minister of Poland, as Winston Churchill's political liaison officer. The dust wrapper, illustrated by Fritz Wegner is clean and highly presentable; the corners feature a mild wear, the top and bottom edges are mildly scuffed, and the rear panel is browned in places. It has not been price clipped. The boards are covered in a deep red cloth and are without marks. They are tightly bound at the spine and sharp at the corners, The text blocks are bright and white but has mild foxing on the side. Overall, this is a very good or better copy and is particularly rare in this condition. The sixth novel featuring the private investigator, Philip Marlowe. . Very Good. Cassell. A first UK edition set published by Cassell between 1956 and 1958. These four volumes, a complete set, are in near fine condition. All four volumes are first printings. Volume I The Birth of Britain has some mild wear to the top of the spine of the jacket and very occasional foxing marks to the wrapper and one or two to the side text block. Volume II The New World has dusty top text block and is mildly pushed to a corner. Volume III The Age of Revolution has a handful of foxing marks to the side text block. Volume IV The Great Democracies has rubbing to the top of the spine. All 4 jackets are not price clipped and there are no previous owner's names in the books or inscriptions. Longmans, Green & Co. First UK edition published by Longmans, Green and Co in 1900. This is a very good copy. The boards have light marks. There is a scratch about 3 inches long on the back board. There are three pin holes on the spine. The spine has cracked on the inside board however the book is well bound. There is a previous owners name on the front free end paper. There is the odd foxing mark throughout the book with moderate foxing to the first couple of pages. Overall a very good copy and complete with all fold out maps.  A very good copy of this first edition. This is Churchill's account of his time served in the second Boer war including his capture and unlikely escape from a prison camp. Clarke and of Val Cleaver a distinguished British Rocket Engineer and advocate for space travel. Samuel Hornsey. In 1836 fishermen began snagging their nets on the seabed in the Solent. A diver from Gosport, Henry Abbinett was hired by them to investigate what was down there. He was the first to see the wreckage of the Royal George and then in the distance, Tudor flagship, The Mary Rose. He brought in two experienced divers, John Deane, and William Edwards. They had more advanced kit and in particular breathing apparatus that they had honed initially for firefighting. They recovered several timbers from both wreckage sites and a bronze gun from the Mary Rose. Rumblings were afoot between the parties as the fishermen, Abbinett and the two divers all laid claim to ownership of what they recovered. The Admiralty had to step in at this point. Admiral Codrington was Commander in Chief Portsmouth and made the decision that the two divers could claim ownership of most of what they recovered, with a percentage going to other parties. Errata slip in place on the first page. opposite the contents page Noel coward has signed without dedication along with Gladys Calthrop as Hernia Whittlebot. A satirical collection of poetry from Coward about Edith Sitwell. The feud between Coward and the Sitwells initially started over Coward satirising them in a playlet earlier in the year called 'The Swiss Family Whittlebot' and would last for years, with both sides having plenty to say about the other. This copy is particularly rare to find signed by Coward and Gladys Calthrop as Hernia Whittlebot.  .
