A particularly attractive copy of this beautiful edition - one of a very small number reserved exclusively for contributors and lettered. 150 numbered copies were made available for sale to subscribers. Full leather gilt with the New Naturalist monogram to the upper cover, two raised bands and gilt titles at the spine. pp. xiii, 460, illustrated with colour photographs and diagrams. Tipped-in limitation plate to the front endpaper which is signed by the author. This copy is lettered "C" and was reserved for the late British botanist and New Naturalist series co-editor, Professor Richard G. West, with his printed name-plate fixed to the front paste-down. As New condition in slipcase. Provenance: from the library of Professor Richard Gilbert West.

A vintage, original, Finnish cinema-foyer POSTER for the first screening in Finland (March 1965) of the celebrated film, Zorba the Greek, starring Anthony Quinn and Alan Bates. A rolled poster (i.e. no folding creases) in Fine condition, approximate size is 23.5 inches by 16 inches, standard Finnish A2 format. With minor signs of use: one very short tear to right edge and similar to bottom edge (neither immediately noticeable). Minor print-soiling to verso where there is also a small pen inscription of film-title and date. Minor handling creases to the corners and some minor dings along the left edge of the poster suggesting that it may have been mounted with clips - there are neither pin-holes nor tape residue marks. In fantastic clean condition otherwise, Fine or better. Artist-signed in the plate. For best appreciation of condition, please examine the high-resolution image which accompanies this listing.

Cloth, blocked with a design by the artist, Patrick Leger. With an introduction by Steve Erickson. Presents as an unread copy, creakingly tight. Slipcase also in Fine, unmarked condition.

Novelization of the movie in the usual Readers Library format. 247pp, ads to the rear. Covers bowed a little, text-block browned but a presentable, tight copy. Dustjacket worn at the extremities and has ancient sellotape repairs to the corners on the inside. Still looks good, an attractive little book.

Published in Paris by Maeght, 1975. Loose signatures in wrappers as issued, 24 pages. Contents in Fine condition, free from spotting, foxing etc. No stains or finger-marking - a very clean and bright copy, the colours are vivid and goregeous. One minor fault - there is a very small pinch at the spine/fold which carries through to the same place at all of the signatures - unsure whether it is a sign of a "bump" or some kind of production fault. otherwise, a Fine example.

A splendid, Finnish, first-screening film poster for the 1954 Italian epic movie, Ulisse (Ulysses) starring Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn and Silvana Mangano. The film premiered in Finland in 1955 and was never re-released. Standard Finnish A2 size, titles in Finnish and Swedish, as usual, measuring approximately 16" x 23.5. Printed by Piirtopaino Oy, artist-signed in the plate. Condition: C7, Very Good. Folding crease visible. Creasing consistent with use of clamps for mounting. Two small chips to left edge near middle - invisible against a dark background (see image). Small tear to bottom edge middle. Strong vivid colouring and a striking poster.

An excellent, cinema-used Finnish A2 lobby poster for the 1961 Italian movie, SWORD OF THE CONQUEROR, (Rosmunda e Alboino) starring Jack Palance and Eleonora Rossi Drago This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. No printer info but signed in the plate by the artist. It is in Fine cinema-used condition. Folding crease to middle Single staple holes to each corner Very tiny hole just above the crease line Minor handling creases along right edge at middle. No nicks to the edges, no tears, no loss of paper. Exceptionally clean and bright. A very nice example of vintage movie advertising art and design in outstanding condition. Shelf-worn along all edges and at the corners with minor chips there. Browned at the spine. A Fair to Good condition example of the First Impression jacket but certainly no oil painting. Surprisingly scarce in the UK edition.
