Bobbs-Merrill Company. 1926. First Edition in aged hunter green cloth boards with embossed red lettering on front board and spine.(see photos). Paper is age-toned without foxing. Earl Derr Biggers (1884-1933) wrote the series of Charlie Chan detective novels with The Chinese Parrot being the second in the series and seemingly the most popular. The story involves two mysterious deaths, the first being the parrot. End of story? I think not. The book was adapted for film twice, as The Chinese Parrot (1927) and as Charlie Chan's Courage (1934). Both films are considered lost films so we're left with the book to solve the mystery of the Chinese Parrot. 5x7.5 in. 316 pg.
