It would be near fine apart from the fact that there are some penned notes written on one page at the rear in the allotted blank notes section. The black Leather binding is in very good condition and the gilt titling is very bright. Light toning to text block and the page edges. Two small stains to the lower text block which do not encroach onto the pages. Presentation copy with the company details of Edwards and Cleave Ltd. to the verso of the blank front end paper. There is also the Company's gilt motif to the front book cover. Lacking the very scarce dustjacket. The book is protected in a loose mylar cover. The follow up to R de Fleury's 1934 book titled '1700 Cocktails for the Man behind the Bar,' in which he attempted to compile recipes for every known cocktail to date. Very Scarce. The First UK printing of this illustrated edition published by Frederick Etchells & Hugh Macdonald, London in 1929. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. The limited issue of only 35 copies signed by Kauffer to the limitation page, this one unnumbered. Printed on T. H. Saunders mould-made paper, and bound in quarter morocco. There was also a trade edition of 500 copies unsigned on normal paper and bound in cloth. Original blue quarter morocco, titles to spine silver, blue buckram boards with Kauffer's design in silver to the front board, edges untrimmed. The morocco spine is slightly sunned and rubbed. Internally, apart from some offsetting to the endpapers, the book is clean and the binding remains tight. Frontispiece and 7 hand coloured illustrations by E. McKnight Kauffer, using the pochoir process. This deluxe signed issue is rare, with only two copies recorded at auction in the past 50 years. The First UK printing published by Macmillan in 2004. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a hint of pushing at the upper spine tip. A very slight hint of toning to the page edges as usually encountered. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. Tiny rub to the extreme upper spine tip and some very light creasing to the extreme wrapper edges. The wrapper artwork looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed by both Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler to the title page. Axel Schleffler has also added a doodle of a mouse face. The sequel to the highly acclaimed 'The gruffalo'.
