Alsace, France, 1945. Fine. SIGNED, "Jacob Devers" on 6.75" x 5.75" B&W photograh including: Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, the youngest French General at the start of WWII and only to command large numbers of American Troops; GEN George C. Marshall, Chief of Staff of the U. S. Army; and Gen. Goisland Du Montsabert who commanded French troops in North Africa and co-operated with the Allies. Identifying incription on the verso indicates the photo was taken in Alsace, 1945.<br /> <br /> LTG Devers was the second ranking American officer in the European theater during WW II after Eisenhower. He wore four "hats" for the operation: Deputy Supreme Allied Commander, Mediterranean Theater; Commanding General NATOUSA; Commander, Advanced Detachment AFHQ; and Commanding General, 6th Army Group.
