Description:
Barcelona, Galeries d'Art Catalonia, October 1, 1934. Minuscule (35 x 8 mm). Paperback.
Josep Dalmau gallery catalog; Dali's second exhibition in Barcelona. Rare Josep Dalmau gallery catalog; Dali's second exhibition in Barcelona.
In 1934, Dali exhibited at the Exposition du Cinquantenaire at the Salon des Indépendants in the Grand Palais in Paris, disregarding the opinion of the rest of the Surrealists who had decided not to take part, a fact that practically led to his expulsion from the group led by Breton. He then held his first solo exhibition at the Zwemmer Gallery in London, before embarking with Gala on the Champlain for his first trip to the United States.
Two of Dalí's solo exhibitions were held there: one at the Julien Levy Gallery and the other at the Avery Memorial at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Harord (Connecticut).
But five of the paintings would be shown a few months earlier in Barcelona: from October 2 to 4, Josep Dalmau i Rafel, one of the key figures of the Spanish avant-garde since… Read More

Description:
Paris, Gallimard, (septembre) 1964
1 vol. (125 x 195 mm) with 163 p. and [2] f. Lightly sanded violet calf, smooth spine, title in blue oeser, mosaic decoration in relief on the pats, gilt edges on the boards, blue velvet lining and endpapers, covers and spine preserved, lined folder and slipcase (binding signed by Honnelaître, 1990).
First edition. One of the first 40 copies on hollande (no. 9).
Sartre considered Une mort très douce to be Simone de Beauvoir's best work: the autobiographical (as well as universal) account of a daughter at the bedside of her mother, "a poor tortured body". It is a poignant account of a life lived by one's own mother, "a poor supplicated body", and provides an opportunity to reflect on the issues of therapeutic relentlessness, euthanasia and the final moments of "an adventure shared by all, yet lived by each alone".
Delicate and rare calf binding by Claude Honnelaître.
From the Robert Moureau library (bookplate).

Description:
[NOTICE EN FRANÇAIS À LA SUITE]First edition.Unique print : 100 copies.
L'Oeuvre priapique isa collection of twenty-three plates by Denon representing subjects with erotic connotations, was published in Paris, at the end of 1793, by N.C. Aubourg Hôtel Bullion rue J. J. Rousseau. Heteroclite in spirit, execution and also in size - one finds scenes taken from ancient coins, Roman paintings from the Naples Museum of Herculaneum as well as compositions invented by Denon - this series constitutes Denon's first attempt as an engraver, when he arrives in Paris, to try to exploit his fund and earn some money. This initiative was ill-timed and testifies to his lack of knowledge of the surrounding climate. In this second year of the Republic, the initiative was politically incorrect, even dangerous: Robespierre, in the great "Discourse on the principles of political morality..." which he delivered on 4 February 1794, proclaimed that "in the system of the French Revolution, what is immoral is impolitic, what… Read More
