[Pakistan, 1940. Two albums with approximately 125 black and white snapshot photographs, most 2.5 x 4 in., belonging to the Daggitt family, with a few ms. notes on three portrait cabinet cards laid into one of the albums, identifying additional family members. The matching albums are approx. 10" x 10"; the photos are laid in with clear plastic overlays. The photographs are sharp, clear and generally well-composed. Most of the snapshot images are of George Edward Daggitt, his wife and children showing their travels and life as residents in Peshawar in the 1930s and 1940s. The cabinet cards include: George Edward Daggitt (1901-?), in British military uniform in 1947; paternal grandmother Emily Emma McHugh, dressed in her nursing sister uniform, "taken in Peshawar, North West Frontier Provence, on the borders of Afghanistan;" and "Auntie" Amy Daggitt [George's sister, presumably], who "...died when she was a nursing sister in a Bombay hospital...buried in the British Cemetery in Bombay." New York: For Saturday Evening Post. Original cartoon drawing. 36 x 30 cm., signed by D'alessio. Matted, cartoon attached to mat with paper tape on verso, soiling and spotting to mat. After the stock market crash, D'alessio began selling his drawings to popular illustrated magazines of the time, including the New Yorker, Esquire and the Saturday Evening Post. For more than twenty years (1940-1963) he drew the strip "These Women" for Publishers Syndicate.

Eberstadt 115, 517: "Daly and his companions had an interesting and adventurous time of it in the northern Idaho wilderness. Interspersed throughout the narrative are stories told at the camp fire by the party's guides, 'Idaho' Bob and 'Peace River' Bill. DAB states that in 1842 Dana published "A Muck Manual for Farmers," regarded as one of the first scientific treatises on agriculture written and published by an American in this country. It also misdates this book as being published in 1850 and says it was widely used as a rural handbook.

Randolph, Jr., in regard to his rights as Commander of the Militia and as to when the Council has the right to govern the state, noting that Patrick Henry shared their interpretation of the Constitution.
