Spine has seen some rubbing of the papers finish. Clean, tight copy and pristine within.

Rebound in an exquisite three quarter leather binding with brown leather spine with four raised bands, gold embossed titling on black leather patch titles, marbled paper insets to cover boards. Only indication of ex-library status is Japanese ink stamp on the title page. Very clean within.

Published in an edition of 250 copies and although usually numbered, this copy is penciled "A.E." at the colophon. Printed at the Press of the Sea Turtle in Easthampton, MA, by Harold McGrath. A beautiful remembrance of an exceptional man. 31 pp. 4to. Gray paper boards with black ribbon binding in the Japanese style with Fritz Eichenberg initials blind embossed on cover. Slight sunning to edge of spine where exposed in the matching slipcase that is in Fine condition. Eichenberg's self portrait serves as the frontispiece.

Following the photograhs are six drawings, four of which included a flap that shows current condition and view -- when the flap is folded back it reveals the impact to the view by the selective removal of overgrowth. Volume I front board hanging by one cord, considerable foxing to frontispiece engraving and first title page with engraving of Temple Bar, From the Strand. Volume II front board detached. Marbled endpapers, considerable foxing to frontispiece engraving and first title page with engraving of Sussex Place at Regent's Park; this title page appears to have suffered water damage and was re-backed with another sheet of paper by a binder, second title page undamaged. Light foxing throughout, including the numerous engraved illustrations at rear, two per page.
