There is an ownership autograph of one E. Bodländer. That said, a clean, unmarked copy in original state. The original German edition of Einstein's epoch-making "On the Special and General Theory of Relativity.

Includes the retort by Einstein and Rosen (originators of speculation on the existence of "worm-holes" in spacetime) to objections made to the general theory of relativity. According to Galina Weinstein: "Between 1935 and 1936, Einstein was occupied with the Schwarzschild solution and the singularity within it while working in Princeton on the unified field theory and with his assistant Nathan Rosen, on the theory of the Einstein-Rosen bridges. Not exactly an "offprint," since the pages are numbered from 1, and the pamphlet is given its own title page, this is considered the first separate edition of a paper Einstein published in the periodical of the Prussian Academy. It is considered Einstein's initial effort, having established general and special relativity, to find a unified theory uniting gravity and electromagnetism, a problem he struggled with for his remaining life.

After decades of ghetto confinement and yellow-hat stigmatization, the Jews of Reggio in Emilia enjoyed a period of liberalism in Napoleon's Cisalpine Republic, established in 1797. Shaken in binding, splitting at crown and heel. Some gilding worn away from upper board. Cover design by avant-garde artist Karel Teige. After welcoming the Soviet army as liberators, Teige was silenced by the Communist government in 1948. In 1951 he died of a heart attack, said to be a result of a ferocious Soviet press campaign against him as a 'Trotskyite degenerate,' his papers were destroyed by the secret police, and his published work was suppressed for decades.
