Built on the Mersey in Birkenhead by Cammel, Laird & Co. Ltd, it was the largest ship ever to be constructed in an English shipyard at the time. This booklet commemorates the launch of the Mauretania II at the yard of Cammell Laird & Co Limited, Birkenhead on Thursday 28th July 1938. Benjamin Ingraham was United Empire Loyalists and after the war,he came to New Brunswick, landing in Saint John in the early fall of 1783. In October of 1783, he moved his family to St. Ann's (now Fredericton).With tools he had brought with him, he cut logs and by November the family moved into their new cabin. Many Loyalists spent the winter in tents and many died.. Later Benjamin settled at the top of what is now called Forest Hill on his grant of 21 acres. Over time, this eventually grew to 203 acres. He died in 1810. His unmarked grave is in the Old Burying Ground between Brunswick and George Streets in Fredericton..
