1919. Etching on cream wove paper, 8 1/8 x 9 3/4 inches (205 x 246 mm), full margins. Signed in pencil, lower right margin. One minor printing defect appearing as a slightly folded bottom sheet edge. Unobtrusive, and well outside of image area, a charming relic of the hand-pressed printing process. Otherwise in excellent condition. [Fisher 126]. A bright and well inked image of one of the only two surviving medieval gates to the city of Winchester, UK, the name of which was first recorded in 1148 AD.

Hard vertical crease along the bottom sheet edge, approximately 1-inch from the bottom of the sheet. Pencil inscriptions on the verso. The image appears to have been trimmed in half, with the left portion of the design lacking.

1800. Graphite and pen and ink on bluish-gray laid paper, 4 1/4 x 2 inches (118 x 50 mm). The ink is slightly attenuated, and there is uniform age tone. The bottom two corners are adhered to a paper mount with archival adhesive. On the verso there is some gray ink wash spatter, and several light pin-point sized spots of discoloration, otherwise in good condition.

Ink and wash on hand made, cool-toned cream laid paper, 6 3/4 x 8 7/8 inches (170 x 224 mm), top margin slightly trimmed. Partial watermark of a shield with two horns, upper right corner. The deckle edge along the sheet top has been trimmed out, the three other deckle edges appear to be full. Three or so very minor spots of foxing appear on the verso, none of which are visible through to the recto. Paper tape remnants at top right and left corner, verso, also not visible through to the recto. A lovely composition, in very good condition. In this charming scene a maid appears bashful as she is introduced by her mother to the shepherd's son.

Red chalk on cream wove paper 10 1/8 x 8 3/8 inches (256 x 212 mm), top margin slightly trimmed. One ¼-inch vertical edge tear at center-left top margin (unobtrusive). Two spots of light brown discoloration at left-lower sheet quadrant. Notation in top left corner reading "No 7" in black ink. Additional Notations in black ink at bottom sheet edge, largely illegible, possibly a date, V...X Année. Extremely light blue chalk score under ink notations at top and bottom. Visible with a blacklight, or in raking light. Surface soiling and several spots of light, circular discoloration, verso, unobtrusive and not visible on the recto.
