First edition 1949, four volumes in 1348 pages, describing road trips throughout the United States, as divided into eight sections. All four books are in very good+ condition. Bindings, pages, etc., are solid, and the books show very little wear, as witness the photographs. Maps on. both end pages.

424 pages, profusely illustrated with 200 engravings. Pages are watermarked across 3/4 inch deep on top, and 1.5 inch square on lower outsides. Glee's students and he visited "historic and famous cities and places of Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and many islands of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans...." The book holds together well ... the cover's gold overprinting is fading, leaving the underlying black ink to do the job.
