Hardcover, thin hardcover flex boards found in red leather with gilt stamped text on front. The leather is original and untreated with scuffing and soiling present edges and corners show bumps/wear with the edges of the spine starting to fray (with the bottom being the worst) internal binding is good except for some pulling in spots. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings. The only handwriting found is in the corner of the front end page where you can just make out where a price was once penciled and then later erased. The first title page has a color frontispiece and this is often considered the title of the book, though there are eight additional title pages with one for each chapter. Harrisburg, PA: Board of Commissioners for the Second Geological Survey, 1877. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original brown cloth boards with gilt text on spine which has turned a coppery color. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with quite a bit of edge and corner bumps/wear. Exterior page edges are darkened. Internal binding is good but there are some issues: and pages are darkened and shows soiling, text pages are yellowed due to age and have dampstain along the outside edge. Some foxing and spotting is also present. The front pastedown shows a small name stamp and there are scattered check marks inside the book. From what was seen these check marks done in pencil but the penciling is dark so erasing them will still likely leave some residue behind. These marks are on an estimated 30 to 50 pages. Large hardcover, cloth boards decorated in blue on front and spine. Exterior shows stuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Top center edge of the front board has damage to the cloth. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Decorated end pages and front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white images and there are also numerous pages with tipped-in color illustrations. All of the tipped-in images were verified as being present.

Boston, MA: Roberts Brothers, 1876. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Eugene Benson. Hardcover, inscribed by the author "With the affectionate remembrance of the author - T. G Appleton". No hinge cracks, no other handwriting other than author's inscription. Exterior shows spotting wear. There's a hole on the front exterior hinge joint, about 3" from the top - possible insect damage. Rare to find signed by the author.

Boston, MA: J. E. Tilton and Company, 1866. Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, first edition thus. Original brown cloth boards blind stamped on front, gilt on spine. Dark brown end pages with the front end page having a Christmas gift inscription from the 1865. Minor foxing noted on interior pages, exterior cloth has spots and the front board is wrinkled. Spine also so sunning. Book condition graded as good plus. See photos.

The original price of $6.95 still on the front flap. DJ is toned (yellowed) with numerous chips and tears along the edges. The worst being the top edge of the back of the jacket. There is also a 1 inch piece of tape at the bottom of the spine on the DJ. Blue cloth boards underneath show some light soiling along with edge fade. Edges and corners show bumps/wear in the rear board has a chip in the cloth at the bottom. The internal binding is good at boards but there is a thin crack at the title page. DJ is quite tattered and faded with numerous chips and tears, the worst being along the top edge of the rear of the book. Orange cloth boards underneath show toning/fading to the edges and spine but are otherwise clean. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No hinge issues, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only evidence of handwriting found is on the front end page where there is a faint indentation of a price once penciled in the corner, and then later erased. Pages are toned due to age but are clean.

Original price of $2.95 is still present on the front flap. Lower corner on front flap is angled but this is typical. DJ has yellowed with age and has numerous stains and soiling, along with minor dampstains near the bottom corner of the jacket. Edges and corners are quite bumped small tears and chips present. Purple paper boards underneath with black cloth to spine. Boards show some fading along edges along with soiling at edges as well. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. Pages are toned with age and some minor foxing is present though mainly limited to the end pages.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1920. Photoplay Edition . Hardcover. VG-/VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Photoplay. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with original dust jacket. DJ shows toning and scuffing along with edge bumps/wear/small tears. Gray cloth boards underneath show only minor toning spots, though there are dark areas in the gutters. Corners are sharp. The book would normally grade as VG+ to near fine but both the front and rear hinges have partial cracks. This is just from lifting and can be repaired, if desired. Pages are toned due to age and there is some foxing present, though this is limited to the pages around the frontispiece along with the end pages and pastedowns. Illustrated with scenes from the play produced by Brock Pemberton. Scarce to find with jacket.

Hardcover, exterior board show sunning along edges and spine, scuffing and spotting is also present. The main reason for the low condition grade of G+ is because there is a 1.25 inch split in the cloth near the lower left edge at the front board. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are tanned due to age and type of paper used in the end pages and pastedowns are darkened. The title page has a signature along the top of the original owner, no other handwriting was found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings.

Cincinnati, OH: E. Morgan And Co., 1854. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Thin cloth covered hardboard exterior - title translates to "Three Reasons Why I am a Baptist". Original 1854 publication printed in Welsh. J. M. Pendleton was the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Bowling Green, KY 1837-1857 and First Baptist Church, Hopkinsville, KY 1833-1836. Binding tight, not sure if this book was ever even read. No handwriting. Light dampstain on back right corner That continues into pages of book. Minor chip on front fore edge (see photos). End darkening noted.

These were purchased direct from distributor and ended up being packed away.

The internal binding is good as far as the text pages but the rear hinge is cracked in spots. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing present. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings found. Please note: this title was published in two parts and the title page states: "With 91 Illustrations and an Atlas". This volume contains the 91 illustrations including a foldout chart at in chapter 2 of the Atlas portion (as mentioned on the title page) was published separately and is not included with this book as this is only the text and illustrations of the geological survey report.
